I spent a mid afternoon taking pictures and sketching from several spots here at Emerald Bay before considering this perspective for a small painting. I'm going to paint this one in a  larger format soon.  I had thought about painting from this location plein air that day, but it was very crowded...

"Sierra Stream"

I getting ready to spend a week with two very good plein air artists up in the Sierras in a couple of weeks.
Antonin Passemard and his wife Anastasia Dukhanina will be teaching in North Lake Tahoe and then off to teach at the 2015 Plein air Convention in Monterey. This is a paint over from a similar composition, but needed a little redo...ha.

"Valley Sunflowers"

Painting in the Suisun valley. Here's a field of sunflowers not to far off the freeway on a Summer day. This valley is one valley over from the Napa Valley looking west.

"Summer Breeze at the Farm"

Another Pleasant Hill farm painting. This one was from a picture I took last year just outside the shed where they sell the produce. Heavy impasto from much palette knife work. Good fun!
