From the slopes of Mt. Diablo pointing west towards Mt Tam in the distance. This is a plein air study in atmospheric distance. 6" x 8" Oil on Raymar plein air panel.

"Green Vase With Lime"

Oil on Masonite board. 8" x 6" (20cm x 15cm). Palette knife technique. Old green vase and lime that turned into a study of two different greens (warm and cool). Did this still life painting on one of the nicest early Autumn days I can remember.

"Cloudscape, Spring into Summer" - 5"x 7" (13cm x 18cm) oil on board. I liked the movement in the skies on this little painting. I did this one in 11" x 14" as well.

Heather Farms Plein Air In Progress

Here's my first 8" x10" oil on board in progress during a Thursday morning workshop with Bryan Mark Taylor this past May. This is one of those workshops that while you see immediate benefits the real results come months later.

Brian Mark Taylor Workshop

This was day 3  of a painting workshop in May with Brian Mark Taylor. This, in progress, painting (which sold on the spot) was done on the slopes of Mt.Diablo. He's a very good teacher! Take advantage of his workshops if you can. I've done 2 so far and have some great improvements (and notes)!

FootHills Vineyard - Fall

This painting is near Georgetown in the foothills pointing towards the Crystal Range (Lake Tahoe). Painted Fall of 2009. Painting measures 6" x 8" oil on a traditional canvas. I did this in a 8" x 10" format as well.

Blackwood Canyon Meadow - Lake Tahoe

Spring Watercolor Plein air. This canyon has several great Plein air locations to choose from and it's only a few minutes from Lake Tahoe on the west shore.
