"St Remy De Provence - Landscape"

This is from the town St Remy De Provence at the Saint-Paul Asylum Where Vincent Van Gogh painted a large amount of paintings including (nearby Arles) the very famous  Starry_Night_Over_the_Rhone. This view is just as you enter into the asylum. He painted this grove of olive trees from several angles.We spent a morning at this location touring the asylum and the grounds.

"Emerald Bay Study"

"Sierra Stream"

I getting ready to spend a week with two very good plein air artists up in the Sierras in a couple of weeks.
Antonin Passemard and his wife Anastasia Dukhanina will be teaching in North Lake Tahoe and then off to teach at the 2015 Plein air Convention in Monterey. This is a paint over from a similar composition, but needed a little redo...ha.

"The Little Lake"

"West Shore Lake Tahoe - Blackwood Canyon Creek"

This is a favorite location to paint in Blackwood Canyon on the West shore of Lake Tahoe, not too far from Homewood. This is a Spring version with plenty of water coming off the slopes and with some help from the several beaver dams just behind this location.

"Provence Spring" Southern France Impression

An impression from a past trip to France. I have been doing two different styles of applying the foreground poppies. This one is a bit more literal than the larger pieces I'm working on. "Truckee River Morning" Plein Air

Painted on a early Fall day on the Truckee river. Very cold morning and when I moved my easel the painting hit a over hanging limb and popped out of the easel face down....after a good 30 minutes I was able to remove the debris...Good fun.

"Twin Peaks - Lake Tahoe" Small Plein Air Painting

I really enjoyed painting from this location on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. I have just completed another version of this in the 9"x12" format. The 9x12 was a plein air piece I was working on for the NLT Plein Air Open (http://www.northtahoearts.com/) in Lake Tahoe, but I decided to scrape it and redo it in the studio.This came out much how I had hoped, which is pretty rare....ha.
